Basic Setup & Operation
Advanced Operation
Quick Start
Follow these three steps to make your first recording.
Use the original cable to connect to the USB-C port on FlashTrack. Once connected, the mic lights up green, meaning it has powered on.
- iPhone 15 or later, computer: connect directly with a USB-C data cable — no extra power from the 5V DC port needed.
- iPhone 14 or earlier (Lightning): add an Apple original adapter and supply power through the 5V DC port.
!Make sure the USB-C cable is plugged into the USB-C port. The 5V DC port supplies power only and cannot record. If the cable is plugged into the 5V DC port by mistake, the indicator turns red as a warning.
Connect the original cable to the USB-C port on FlashTrack.
Plug your earphones into the headphone jack and use the VOL button to adjust. Check two things:
- Loud enough: sing or play into the mic and let the level bar go past the halfway point
- Earphone volume: set to a comfortable level — it does not affect the recording
Plug earphones into the headphone jack and adjust with the VOL button.
Open a recording app on your phone or computer. On iPhone, the built-in Camera or Voice Memos app works fine; on a computer, select FlashTrack as the mic. When the mic turns purple, you are ready to record.
Purple: recordingIf the indicator turns red or there is no sound, see the FAQ below. On Android, the indicator may show green or purple while recording — both can be normal.
FAQ
Q1. Which devices work with FlashTrack?
FlashTrack works with iPhone, iPad, Android, and computers. Use the table below to check how your device connects and what you need to prepare.
| Device | Connection | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 15+ / iPad (USB-C) | Direct USB-C connection | None |
| iPhone 7–14 (Lightning) | Via adapter | Apple Camera Adapter + 5V power |
| Android | USB-C connection | USB OTG support required, Android 10+ |
| Computer (Mac / Windows) | Direct USB-C connection | None |
This usually happens when iOS does not sync the sample rate while switching mics. Restart the device and make sure you are using the original cable.
Q2. FlashTrack ports & indicator lights
Bottom ports
- USB-C portConnects to a computer or phone — supplies power and works as the mic at the same time.
- 5V DC portWhen the phone is low on power, connect external power here — it also reduces drain on your phone.
- Headphone jack (3.5mm)Connect earphones to monitor yourself while recording.
Bottom ports: USB-C on the left, 5V DC port on the right.
Indicator lights
- GreenConnected, but not recording yet
- PurpleRecording, everything is fine
- BlueIR mic modeling is on
- RedNo audio detected — check the cable and port
- BlinkingThe mic is muted
If the light is red or there is no sound, check in order:
- Use the original USB-C cable and plug it into the USB-C port (not the 5V DC port next to it)
- If the phone is low on power, connect external power to the 5V DC port
- After recording starts, the light goes from green to purple — that means it is working
This is caused by the phone’s power-saving mode, not a fault. Once recording starts, Android may show green or purple — both can be normal. Turn off power-saving mode before recording, or connect external power for more stability.
Q3. How do I connect Bluetooth backing tracks and add instruments?
Connect a Bluetooth backing track
FlashTrack can receive backing tracks from your phone over Bluetooth, mix them with your vocals, and record everything to your computer via USB-C in one go.
- Press the Bluetooth button, or hold it for 3 seconds, to enter pairing mode
- In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, find “FT_BT” and tap to pair
- When the light stays on, pairing is complete and you can play your backing track
The phone sends the backing track over Bluetooth while USB-C connects to the computer for recording.
To clear a paired device, hold the Bluetooth button for 10 seconds to reset.
Add an instrument
FlashTrack has an AUX IN port for connecting a keyboard or acoustic-electric guitar, so you can record the instrument together with your vocals — no separate mixer needed.
- Keyboard: use a 6.3mm-to-3.5mm stereo cable to connect the keyboard output to AUX IN.
- Acoustic-electric guitar: the guitar needs a built-in pickup, then use a 6.3mm-to-3.5mm cable to connect to AUX IN.
Use a 6.3mm-to-3.5mm cable to connect the instrument to AUX IN.
A guitar without a built-in pickup has too weak a signal to connect directly. Check that your guitar has one before connecting.
Q4. How do I reset FlashTrack to factory settings?
If the settings get messed up and you are not sure how to fix them, follow these steps to restore FlashTrack to its factory state.
- Return to the main screen
- Press and hold the Logo button and main knob together for about 5 seconds
- When the screen shows BACK TO DEFAULT, the reset is complete
After resetting, all your custom settings will be cleared. Make sure before you proceed.
