Duties & Clearance is a flat 10% fee added to international orders at checkout. It covers import duties, taxes and customs clearance for your parcel, so in most cases there's nothing more to pay when it arrives.

Why a flat rate?

CloudVocal ships from Taiwan. When an international parcel arrives, local customs may charge import duties and taxes, and the courier usually adds a clearance fee — all collected before delivery.

We take care of these for you. Actual duty and tax rates vary by country and product, so instead of calculating them for every order, we charge one simple flat rate and pay the actual costs on your behalf. Because it's a flat rate, it isn't the tax amount itself: depending on your country, the actual costs may be higher or lower than 10%, and the fee stays the same either way. The extra fee is always absorbed by us.

What it covers

  • Import duties and taxes in your country (such as VAT or GST)
  • Customs declaration and paperwork
  • Courier clearance and handling fees

How it's calculated

10% of the price of the items in your cart. Shipping is not included in the calculation.

Example — items: US$500, Duties & Clearance (10%): US$50, total before shipping: US$550.

Where it applies

The fee currently applies to all destinations we ship to, except Australia and Japan. If the fee doesn't appear in your cart, it doesn't apply to your order.

Returns and cancellations

  • Cancelled before shipping: the fee is refunded in full.
  • After your order has shipped: the fee is non-refundable, because duties and clearance costs have already been paid to customs and the courier.
